The Simple Things.

Yesterday and today I did a lot of thinking, especially about the current state of our world and the economy. Regardless of how everything may seem at the moment, our country is far from alright. As many of you may know, we’re more than most likely going to be entering a depression. Sometimes I think it’s almost inevitable. I feel so sad for our country because everything will be chaos (as if it isn’t already). People will be losing their jobs left and right. Hell, that seems to have already started. Everything will be terrible. I’m convinced the government just does not give a shit about it’s people.

It all brings me to the conclusion that I’m very satisfied with my current state of mind. That being said, I have rarely ever taken anything for granted. I have learned to appreciate the simpler things in life and I’m definitely not a materialistic person, because they come and go. With the world being the way that it is, and how it will become, there isn’t a better way for me to be. Although my pregnancy is a tough one, I’m still pretty much healthy and I thank the Lord for blessing me with good health, a beautiful family (even if it’s small) and the knowledge to understand that these simple things are enough to get me through each and everyday. I have been a victim of many things in life and have still remained the strong person that I am today. What more could I ask for? Sure, I have times when I’m downright angry and/or upset but everyone does. I go through things and I learn from my mistakes. I fall, only to get back up, try again or move on. Whatever the case is, I’m happy about who I am, how I was raised and who I’m going to be in years to come. In my opinion, that’s enough to get through any national disaster.

I find to that it has started. We have so many customers who are not purchasing because they just can’t afford too. It affects so many people. I am Canadian but it will effect us too. We are so closely entwined with the US economy. We are more stable right now but I think that too will change eventually. So I am closely watching it.

It’s good you rarely take anything for granted. I try hard not too. I know it can always easily go away so I try to enjoy what I have while I have it and not miss it too much when it’s gone.

Your family sounds like they are very lucky to have you. And you to have them. No matter how small. It’s to hard today to have a huge family. But it’s a blessing to have one no matter what. I wish I did and can’t wait till the day that I do.

I hope you don’t mind if I link you. I reading what you have to write.

it is really sad, but we’ve been headed towards the devastation we are to face for many years…not just since bush has been in office. it’s little details, bills passed, deals under the table, etc that have put us in the bind we are in at this very moment.

it will be VERY bad in a couple of years..this is just the beginning and although i will hate to see it i’m trying to prepare myself mentally. it’s about to me a total mess!

I agree. We are definitely headed into a depression. I think people don’t believe it and when it happens, they will fail. It’s no time to play with the inevitable, it’s important to prepare now. Those who rely on so many materialistic things will have a rude awakening. We can only blame the government for so much, the americans need to take blame for the careless actions and mismanagement of their money for so long.

Hopefully, we’ll make it through, and I truly hope lessons will be learned and life will be appreciated more.

Lucky for me I learn pretty early that materialistic things aren’t important. When I do have money I always spend it on food and other necessaries.

Whatever happen In America always has a way of iaffecting other countries.. so yeah I understand somewhat.

You are right. The economy has affected so many families already. Actually I saw in the news the other day about a man killing his family and afterward committing suicide due to financial difficulties. *sigh* Although I am in Canada, the US economy has always had a huge effect on our economy… but then again, I don’t know much about these things. I hope my children will live a comfortable life and I will definitely teach them not to take things for granted.

I just wrote an entry about this the other day actually, about the United States falling into a depression. It’s 1929 all over again. But even in 1929, if you looked, there were jobs. There are many more jobs available today than in 1929. The depression will be terrible for the United States what the the debt, the six largest banks already closing in the states. Wachovia closing - buckling under 42 billion dollars in debt. Even if your government approves that 700-billion dollar bail out, it won’t save the United States from what’s coming. As for Canada, and other developed countries - it’ll effect us, but I don’t think it will be as bad. All your banks are privately owned, ours aren’t and our banks still have plenty of money to “lend out”. I don’t know. It’s hard to say. The US is our largest import and export. 79% of our exports go to the US, and our economy is somewhat dependent on yours - but we won’t know until it happens. Our economy is feeling it slightly, but not nearly as bad as your country is feeling it right now. I cannot believe what I just read in another comment either - about the guy killing his family and then himself because of financial hardship. I am not materialistic, but I do worry for the future of my children. We won’t know how bad it’s gonna be until it really comes down on everybody. I believe the depression has already begun. They mark the day of the start of the depression in 1929 on the day the stock market crashed known as “Blackout Tuesday” - I just read that when the stock market crashed on Monday when they denied the bail out they called it “Blackout Monday” and it’s the biggest one-day stock market crash since 1987. I believe we’ve already fallen into our downwards spiral. Anywho, I’ve clearly ranted long enough — ha ha…good entry!! I don’t know if I linked you yet, I’ll check, and if I haven’t — I hope you don’t mind if I do. Always have trouble finding my way back to your blog! :D

I have said that too and people dont want to listen to me when I talk about this country. I will hate it if we do hit depression, but it really won’t hurt me because I know about having a hard time, the struggles and everything, but all we can do is pray about it and hope Obama win this election and pray some more.

Like I told my family, if McCain wins, I am packing my shit and moving to Paris. LOL.

Although it is a difficult time, I do believe things will eventually get better. The media tends to make it out to be much worse than it actually is. I just think this is a very hard time for Americans, but I remain positive.

However, although I’m not religious, I do follow Christ and I believe the end times are getting much closer. There is so much evil in this world and no one is doing anything to stop it.

This is all over the news, worldwide. Australia’s sharemarket has crashed several times in the last couple of months, more so in the most recent. And its due to the collapse in the economy of the US, everything is almost ridden off of the US market. Unfortunately. And already so many shareholders and other contenders in the economic market have witnessed several blows, and a loss of more than 22 billion dollars. The entire world is about to enter a depression, Australia is already showing signs of a recession. People cannot afford things anymore, where I work, it has gotten less busy as it normally is. And whoever pays, they’re paying on credit cards all the time. That has helped contribute to the debt in the economy. People have been given sums and sums of money loaned to them but they just cant pay it off and now the pot has boiled over. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the next few months and if they can get themselves out of this mess.

I find it more of a concern that people are losing their homes, their jobs, etc. Thats just sad and its so screwed up! :( All we can do is hope that something better happens. And soon.

Im glad you’re feeling really happy about who you are and where you’re in the world, its the main thing in life, its to be happy. :) So to hear that you’re is a great thing indeed! You definitely should see Eagle Eye and I hope you had a good weekend!

ah, I really, really hope we don’t go into a depression. I’m hoping it won’t get worse.
I’m guilty of taking a lot of things for granted, but I’m getting better at it the older I get. I’ve been in neighborhoods that are just awful and it makes me appreciate my life and it makes me want to work even harder in school so I won’t end up like that.
I’m not much of a materialistic person either. I enjoy nice things, but they’re not everything to me.

It’s good that you have found the strength to love yourself and to be grateful for the little things. Some people miss that and live a miserable live because they neglect the things they should appreciate that is standing right in front of them. Good for you!

Unfortunately, and sadly, I have to agree. I believe that we are beginning to enter a depression, but there is always going to be light at the end of the tunnel. Just because the cookie crumbles, doesn’t mean that the economy should give up. The stock market may be plumeting off it’s high horse, but it’ll get better in time. It’s sad to think about. =/

I completely agree with this entire blog. I think it’s interesting how un-educated a lot of people are about the downfall of our economy and its unstable condition. The country is completely chaos right now. Our school system just laid off 200 workers on Friday. I’m sure these people had no idea that they of all people who be next, a lot of them are educators/primary staff members. You know things are bad when your school system is letting people go.

I’ve grown up a lot in the past year, learning that my own happiness is based upon how I react to things that happen in my life. I’ve learned to appreciate everything and in return when something doesn’t go my way, now I am mature enough to know that it is all for a reason and just hope for the best the next time around. Yeah, that was a huge run-on sentence but I’m sure you understand what I’m saying lol.

The sad part about all of this is that one man is responsible for this soon to come depression. Blame Bush….

Yes I said it! I feel sorry for people who couldn’t already afford to live, because it’s going to get worse. I pray to God for a miracle that would get us out of this mess.

Things are bad, yes, but I don’t think they’re as bad as the media is trying to scare us to believe. The economy goes through cycles. This is a down cycle, yes, but things will eventually pick up again. Is anyone’s job safe? No, but that’s why we have to save and hope for the best.

Other than that, there isn’t much the average person can do. If we panic and worry, it will only make things worse.

You’re right, that weather is the perfect kind to hang out with family & catch up. After everyone has worked all week, they just wanna hang out and relax together. It’s really nice. You’re right about the top 40 songs not being much good, they’re all album filler songs where most of them have repetitive chorus lines and just a one hook beat which makes it catchy enough to be in the top 10 for a long enough while. And then most of the video clips for them are women shaking their booties all around, wearing almost no clothing and men who enjoy it, while trying to pull themselves off as gentlemen. LOL. Yeah, it doesnt look like as if our kids will have much to look forward to in the music side of entertainment, when they’re our age. It does make you wonder what music will be like then. Hopefully it gets better.

As for the economy now; I just watched the news where they said it’s now official that the US has entered a depression. Not good news. Definitely not for investors. I just worry about the innocent people who are in the possibility of losing their homes, or jobs. :/
