Ugh. Dial Up.

Ok, so I know you guys remember me telling you about the situation that I had with Verizon. I’m going to take the entry I posted in my livejournal and place it here.

So I was having problems with Verizon for a while. I didn’t have any service for a whole month. Needless to say, I wasn’t very happy and the sad thing is, after they called themselves “fixing the problem” the service went out again for another week. I had enough by that time and I decided to switch services. Well, to my surprise the day after I went to switch services, I received a bill from Verizon for the month that I didn’t have service. I went through about 5 customer service reps who all gave me the runaround until the last one confirmed that I didn’t need to be billed if I didn’t have service. She took that shit off of my bill. When I tried to switch services, Verizon put a service freeze on my account so the other service couldn’t switch anything. Now I have to wait until Wednesday for my service to switch over, which sucks. For now, I’m on dialup and let me tell you, it’s frustrating as shit. I’ve had to wait 2 weeks for my service to be switched just because Verizon wanted to be some slick asses. Word of advice, don’t ever get Verizon for your home phone service. Their customer service completely sucks and they’re assholes.

I was gone for a short time but now I’m back on dial-up until Wednesday as I stated before. Dial-up is frustrating as hell to say the least but being on bed rest, I don’t have much to do and I was going insane being completely bored and not being able to do what I enjoy doing most — chatting with my online buddies and browsing sites. Dial-Up isn’t as quick as my dsl was but with Verizon’s shitty dsl service, I kind of see no difference now that I’ve removed the filters from the phone jacks. Everything has been good with me for the most part, besides being completely bored as shit. I’ve been doing well. Everything’s fine with the baby. I’m going to try to visit all of your wonderful sites on dial-up so bear with me!

I shall go kick Verizon ass, home service, the black Angelina Jolie style. They know better than that. I hate dial up. Oh gosh. It is so slow, but back then before they created dsl it was the shit.

But it won’t be long before Wednesday is here babes. It’ll fly right on by. It seems like its taking forever for Saturday to get here, that is when I hope my check arrives, if not it’ll be next Tuesday, blahh.

    Take care hun =X

What? So, you don’t get service from THEM, but they want to prevent you from going elsewhere. Wow. Unbelievable and seriously crappy. I hope, when the new service gets installed, that it goes a lot better.

Hmmm, their service is really crappy then. It sucks that you had to endure this sort of problem. Ah. Dial-up. I guess you just have to bear with it until Wednesday. =) I’m glad to hear everything is fine with the baby.

I feel ya… I went through the same thing yesterday, especially when I was trying to get an update on a phone replacement that I had ordered. I was on the phone for 5 hours, 4 of which I was on hold. Not thoroughly impressed.
I hope you can get it resolved, if anything, don’t pay for the bill.

You know, I have always envied you for such great web designing skills! Your layouts are always brilliant and nifty.

As for the phone problem… I haven’t faced it myself, because I still live with my parents. But yeah, it can be frustrating when somebody’s unfair with you. That’s how the business goes around. :/

I haven’t heard from you (and everyone) for a long time, so it’s good to hear everything’s alright beside that. :)

dial up is the worst! i’ve had it all my life until i got to college and since i started using that T-1 i convinced my parents to get off the dial up. i had NO idea verizon was like that! my dad was thinking of switching to their home phone/internet/tv packaged bundle b/c we have optimum now. verizon is cheaper but it’s not worth it if the service sucks. hope wednesdays is here before you know it!

Woo, good thing we have Comcast. If you call in and complain, your problem will be fixed within at least 24 hours if not less. Good luck on dial up. I remember using my neighbor’s computer when we didn’t have internet and I know that dial up completely sucks. But you only have to wait 3 days, that’s not too bad.

Oh, I hate dial up too. I remember going to my grandmas when I was younger and having to use her dial up and it annoyed me so much because I was so used to the dsl we had at home and I hadn’t ever had to use dial up. :P
Hope you get dsl again soon! and I hope things keep going well with you and the baby!

I need to keep talking the parents out of it, because they’re getting the idea of switching from Comcast to Verizon, internet, phone, and TV. Verizon has always seemed shady, Comcast is extremely helpful. So what, they’re starting a 250gig internet cap? That’s still a lot. No such thing as unlimited anyway!

Omg, I really see what you mean! I’m having the same problems here in Holland, but somedays it works, and somedays it doesn’t work…

    I’m happy the baby’s doing fine=)

Hey there. Dial-up sucks, though it was my source of internet for years and years. Now, I’ve been using wireless for ever and if I had to go dial up for just a hour, I’d die. I’m constantly watching videos or on MySpace and it would just be dreadful. Glad you took the time to let us know what’s up though.
